How to build a pallet house

The DIY creations of wooden pallets are an increasingly popular trend, with projects ranging from building pieces of furniture to an outdoor pool.

It is important to find a surplus of high quality wood pallets that have been chemically treated in order to avoid bacteria, insects and fungi.

A strong base has to be built in order to support the weight of the house. Concrete can be used to help create a sturdy base floor. The walls will be constructed in a modular way with the pallets using them as a substitute for a structure of wooden posts, provided they have been treated with a polyurethane varnish to add an extra layer of resistance.

Due to the great weight of the pallets, it is not recommended that they be used for the roof. metallic coatings and other materials will better weather and offer greater support to the pallet house.
